Who We Are

The Foam Company

We are a family owned business, striving not to be the biggest but the best. Mum and Dad (Chris and Daphne to you!) started the company thirty years ago, and I have the task of making sure we continue our story.

What do you need to know? Well our values are paramount to us and we hope you see that in the products we produce, and the way in which we serve our customers. Most importantly our mattresses look and feel great, cradling your body perfectly. We also offer full and technologically advanced foam conversion, fabrication and fibrefill components.

Since the company was formed in 1986 we have seen massive changes in the marketplace concerning the supply of block foam and conversion outlets. For instance, in 1986 there were 11 flexible polyurethane production plants in the United Kingdom. In 2016 there are just 4, owned by 3 companies!

During the past 30 years we have seen over 150 foam converters, both supplier and independently owned, go out of business. We are still here, having avoided various banana skins along the way.

Medical Grade Foam
Experts in Foam, Memory Foam and Latex since 1986

The Foam Company might not be the biggest, but we certainly think we’re the best!

We listen to our customers, have a works council, and are extremely proud of the fact that we recycle all our waste from foam into carpet underlay to the reprocessing of cardboard and plastic. We are constantly audited by major retail chains and the NBF.

Chris, Daphne & Mike Nash
A Family Business

Family has been an important part of The Foam Company ethos all the way back to Cecil Nash, grandfather to our chairman Chris and great-grandfather to Michael, who began working as an apprentice chairmaker in 1914.

Today, all staff members are important members of the business family – we’re all very down to earth, normal people. There are no superior attitudes here!

UK Manufacturing

All our beds and mattresses are manufactured in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. All materials are sourced from UK companies rather than using a foreign supply chain.

This adds cost, but it means thay we keep complete control over our quality. It also means that the revenues we generate and the jobs we create stay right here in the UK.
